Maimi Knitted by Sabine Brenner

My skilled German test knitter Sabine Brenner, aka Sabine010163 on Ravelry, has made two Maimi sweaters, one in blue in size 5 for herself and one in red for a friend in size 3. I met Sabine first time at Wollness Weekend outside Vienna in Austria in 2015 and last time at Munich Knits last year. I love this photo of the two of them wearing their Maimi sweaters! Sabine often knits two versions of the same design in different colours to my delight!

Both versions are beautifully knitted in Dibadu Funnies, Cool Merino, a German hand dyed yarn in pure merino, just in different colours. Sabine achieved the given gauge of 21 stitches and 30 rows using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle. In a message to me she wrote: “Oh yes! I love my new Lindasweater. And I knit a second in a very fine red color for a dear friend. She saw my blue Maimi and asked very sweetly if I would knit one for her too.” I was so chuffed to hear it! Thank you so much, Sabine!

Maimi is available in sizes 1 to 9 with a bust circumference of 93 to 164 cm/36.5 to 64.5 inches. You can buy yarn kits directly from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. While the pattern is available in English, German, Danish and Norwegian on Ravelry, and on Love Crafts (not the Danish version).
