I am back in Norway but my head is still in Vancouver, so here is another post on the amazing Knit City Vancouver from September 26 to 28, 2025! In the Knitting Lounge, opposite the SweetGeorgia stand as they organised it, I met with founder Felicia Lo & Greta Cornejo (Education Program Coordinator) in real life for the first time. Felicia interviewed me in The SweetGeorgia Show podcast back in 2017 and we have seen each other more recently in video meetings. She is as lovely as she appears in her podcast! Above you see a selfie that Felicia took of us.
My Canadian patron Patricia Bell and I also met for the first time in Vancouver, where Patricia used to work many years ago. It was incredible to meet her in person and I am so grateful for her showing me the city. Yes, I will show you more photos from Vancouver and our sightseeing.
I recognised the Alley Cat Yarns logo at Melissa’s stand, before I remembered why. According to Melissa I am her favourite designer, hence you see the big smile on my face. I loved her yarns, especially the Silk Yak base in both DK and 4-ply. I picked three skeins I wanted to buy, but Melissa gifted me those!
Here is my yarn haul from Knit City Vancouver, including the very popular KCV 25 tote bag – with a zip at the top (yes, it sold out in less than 20 minutes). The 3 skeins from Alley Cat Yarns – 2 identical of the 4-ply as I want to try them out held together – and 5 skeins from Ancient Arts Yarn. Yes, they were also gifted to me after I had picked those. I cannot wait to test these yarns out, but first I am finishing off another design.
There will be lots more to come in my October newsletter and vlogs from both the KCV (see cover above) and SweetGeorgia Studio on Patreon for my paid subscribers.
