Here is the next design, Rikona, out in the Audic Photoshoot Series taken on their trip west in Montana in USA where they stayed at a friend’s ranch. Check out these scenic shoots that photographer Gael Audic took of his wife and model Rebekah, who is wearing the sample in size 2 with 15.5 cm/6 inches positive ease. I had forgotten to wear a belt when Michael photographed me, so I was so thrilled to see Rebekah wearing one!
My skilled sample knitter Nadja Bresky, aka 77stricknadel on Ravelry, made the seamless dress in Lana Grossa Cashmere 16 Fine with a gauge of 23 stitches and 33 rounds/rows using a 4 mm/US 6 needle measuring 10 cm/4 inches square after blocking. And no, the yarn is not made of pure Cashmere but of 80% Merino extrafine, 10% Cashmere and 10% Polyamide with an amazing 320 meters/350 yards on each 50 gram ball. The yarn was kindly sponsored by Lana Grossa.
Rikona is graded in sizes 1 to 9 with a bust circumference of 93.5 to 164.5 cm/36.75 to 64.75 inches. Above you see a detail of the double knitted collar which is knitted together with the neckband in garter stitch.
The dress is worked bottom and up in the round, to the armhole, then back and forth. The sleeves are worked top down in the round. The garter stitch neckband together with the double knitted collar is worked in one piece. Only the short end of the neckband is grafted to the bind off stitches at the neck.
Rikona, Japanese for fruit child, is a seamless A-line dress with a double knitted polo neck collar with a cable pattern running along each side up to the shoulder. The body is worked bottom up in the round up to the armholes, while the sleeves are worked top down. Rikona is knitted in the lightweight, chainette yarn Lana Grossa Cashmere 16 Fine.
The pattern has been released in English and Norwegian in my Ravelry Store. Thank you so much to my brilliant photoshoot team Gael & Rebekah Audic for these amazing shoots!
