Kaibara Knitted by Regina Clara

Next out in my series knitted by is Regina Clara, from Austria, with her stunning Kaibara knitted in Rowan Summerlite 4ply, using a 3.25 mm/US 3 needle. She skilfully made size L with a perfect fit. I love this stunning photo taken in her garden!

Here is a detailed photo of the lace during her progress. On her Ravelry project page you can read that Regina’s chosen adjective for the pattern is: Beautiful lace pattern! Thank you ever so much!

Named after Kaibara Ekken the father of botany in Japan is this flowery lace adorned A-line pullover with short sleeves. To allow the lace pattern to shine, the remaining pullover is worked in stockinette stitch. The pullover is knitted in pieces then seamed, for the ultimate fit, in the drapey and lustrous Como Silk from Handweavers Studio. Kaibara is made to be worn on a perfect summer’s day or at a party.

The Kaibara pattern is available in sizes XS to 5XL with a gauge of 23 sts and 34 rows in stockinette stitch measures 10 cm/4” square after blocking, in both English and Norwegian on Ravelry and LoveCrafts.
