I just had to share this stunning Izana knitted by my test knitter and patron Sylke Feldhusen in size S/M using Dale Garn, Natural Lanolin Wool. I love the styling too! Sylke, aka Lysstreif on Ravelry, writes on her project page: “I absolutely love this top and how it fits. Beautiful texture, and clean finishing with I-cords around neck and armholes.” I am ever so chuffed to hear this! Thank you so much, Sylke!

Sylke began knitting the top using Kauni, but found it too hard to purl with and then changed to the Natural Lanolin Wool. “The Dale yarn was a good choice, though I had to make some adjustments at the shoulders due to tighter row gauge”. The pattern gauge is 22 stitches and 30 rows in stockinette stitch using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle measures 10 cm/4 inches square after blocking.

Here is my introduction to the pattern: Named Izana Japanese for invite is this straight oversized sleeveless pullover where the extra width is turned into a sleeve-part. It is adorned with a basket weave pattern and crowned by I-cords around the neck as well as the armholes. Izana is worked, with a double hem at the bottom, in parts and seamed to make it hang better. The pullover is knitted in the airy comb yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
