I am thrilled to show you my new design Flurie; an oversized high-low pullover with side panels and pockets knitted in the gorgeous Fior di Lino yarn by mYak. The pattern will be test knitted in my Ravelry group beginning on the 19th of October with a flexible deadline of 1st of December before the pattern launch on the 3rd of December. mYak is offering 20% discount on the yarn Fior di Lino for the test knitters (the code will be emailed to the participants).
The yarn is made of 50% Tibetan Cloud, 35% Baby Yak, 15% Italian Linen and each 50 grams ball has 200 meters/218 yards on it. mYak kindly sponsored the yarn for this design. I have knitted the sample using a 3.25 mm/US 3 needle with a 24 stitches and 36 rows gauge measuring 10 cm/4 inches square.
Here is my introduction to the pattern: Flurie is a high-low pullover with an all over basket stitch pattern, swinging side panels and pockets. Named after Italian for effortless movement. The pullover ends in a high loose turtle neck collar. Flurie’s side panels are picked up and knitted after the side seams are done. The pockets are knitted at the same time as the front, including the pocket band and the lining. Wear Flurie as you like; hanging loose or gathered with a belt or with a shawl pin at the front. Flurie is worked in pieces for the ultimate fit, in the gorgeous Fior di Lino by mYak.
The pullover is worked back and forth in pieces and seamed. The back, front and sleeves are worked bottom up. The two vertical side pockets are worked at the same time as the front with extra stitches for the pocket band, with the lining attached horizontally at the top and bottom of the pocket. The side panel is picked up and knitted sideways after the shoulder and side seams. The collar is worked in the round.
Michael has taken these photos of me wearing the sample next to the lock in Ørje, not far from our house.
I have graded the pullover in sizes 1 to 9 with a bust circumference from 116 to 196 cm/45.75 to 77.25 inches. The intended ease is + 46-56 cm/18-22 inches and I am wearing size 3 with 48 cm/19 inches positive ease and I stand 175 cm/5’9 inches tall.
