Photoshoot at Bøler Church: Mairead

Next out in the series of photos from the shoot in June at Bøler kirke/Church is Mairead, made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk in Ask. I wanted to have this photographed worn over the Riona pullover – which has the same cables – as that was my inspiration for it. But we started with Mairead on its own. Modell Emmalin Williams is wearing Mairead over a silk top and with silk fabric pinned together into a skirt. The print on the silk was perfect, and I was so chuffed to have discovered it in a fabric shop called Rainbow Fashion in Oslo. Make-up & hair styling was done by the very skilled Janne Skarpeid Hermansen and the silver jewellery is by Kaja Gjedebo Design. These brilliant photos are captured by photographer Eivind Røhne. Yarn kits with either an English or a Norwegian pattern are available from Hillesvåg ullvarefabrikk, while the individual pattern is currently being test knitted in my Ravelry group and will be released at the end of December.

I wanted a light background for Mairead and chose the concrete column in the entrance hall.

Named Mairead, Irish for pearl, is this high-low vest adorned with Celtic cables crowned with an I-cord neckband. The sides are made with a triple selvedge, to make the longer back part lie flat. The vest is seamed with the neckband worked in the round. Mairead is knitted in the airy Norwegian combed wool yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.

The vest is worked back and forth in separate pieces and seamed. The neckband is worked in the round.

The last photo I will share is of the Mairead vest worn above the Riona pullover. Emmalin is wearing size XS with 14 cm/5.5″ positive ease. I have graded the pattern in sizes up to 5XL with a bust circumference of 98 to 182 cm/38.5 to 71.75″.
