Ceol in Familien Vårstrikk 2023

The special issue “Familien VårStrikk” is now available in Norway and I am fortunate to have one design in the magazine: Ceol. As usual, it is a magazine with 100 pages filled with knitting patterns mainly for women but also a few for men, children and interiors. On the cover is the lovely “Lykkejakke” by Tove Lindtein made in Permin, Bella (75% kid mohair, 20% wool, 5% polyamid, 50 g, 145 m/159 yds) .

Ceol is introduced as follows: Named Ceol, Irish for music, is this straight pullover with Celtic cables that vibrates out into smaller cables and then flattens into stockinette stitch like rhythm. The sweater ends in a crew neck that is crowned with an I-cord. Unlike the body the sleeves only have two small cables at the center. Ceol is knitted in pieces in the airy Norwegian combed wool yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.

One more of the photos taken by Wenche Hoel-Knai of Olivia Lindtein with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull at Sentralen in December 2021 is included in the magazine. The sweater is available in sizes XS to 5XL with a bust circumference of 85 to 161 cm/33.5 to 63.5″ and knitted in Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk, Ask with a 22 stitches and 30 rows in stockinette stitch using 3.5 mm/US 4 needle gauge. The Ceol pattern is available in my Ravelry Store and on Lovecrafts. Yarn kits with either an English or a Norwegian pattern is available directly from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.

The Familien VårStrikk magazine is available at selected news agents and super markets in Norway.
