Khayam and Laplace Patterns Released

The time has come to tell you about the release of the Khayam jacket and the Laplace pants patterns in English (read: the Norwegian ones are coming very soon) on Ravelry, as the test knit is coming to an end. I wanted to release both pattern at the same time as they were made to be worn together as a set. Both are knitted in the gorgeous Australian yarn Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5 ply with a crepe construction using a 3.75 mm/US 5 needle and a 24 stitches and 34 rows gauge in stockinette stitch measuring 10 cm/4″ square by sample knitter Grete Jenssen, aka ma9 on Ravelry. My test knitters did a brilliant job correcting and improving the pattern! The set was photographed worn by Model Olivia Lindtein – with make-up & hair styling by Nina Hjertaas Bull jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design – at Sentralen in Oslo back in December last year by Wenche Hoel-Knai. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Tweed Scarf

The time has come to share the last set of photos taken by Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen during our shoot back in December last year. The Tweed Scarf is an old design originally made for my Norwegian knitting book “To rett, en vrang. Designstrikk” published in 2012 by Cappelen Damm. I wanted some new photos as the backside was not photographed the first time around. This time I styled the Tweed Scarf with black pencil pants and a chalk white coat. I loved seeing the scarf on model Olivia Lindtein, with Make-up & Hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design. In the first two photos you see it with the tuck side out, while the remaining ones have the cable side out. Continue reading

Photoshoot at Sentralen: Cable Round Sweater

I selected another two old design to photograph again on our last photoshoot in December at Sentralen in Oslo. The first of these is the Cable Round Sweater knitted in Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk Tinde pelt wool that was first released in August 2014. I have limited use of the photos as the model was from an agency, hence the need for new photos. Brilliant photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai captured model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, wearing the Cable Round Sweater with and without the cowl. You have already seen some of the photos of Laplace – the Palazzo Pants – worn together with Khayam by model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, photographed by Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen back in December, but you have not seen any details of the trousers yet. So here they are. I have finished the pattern and shortened the inside leg length as well as the crotch length. Continue reading

Photoshoot at Sentralen: Khayam

The time has come to show you how stunning Khayam – worn together with Laplace -looked on Model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, photographed by Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen back in December. Named after the mathematician Omar Khayyam who worked on problems of Algebra is this long slightly oversized jacket with a cable collar and long cuffs. The remaining parts are knitted in stockinette stitch to make the cable stand out. A double belt in stockinette stitch highlights the beginning of the collar. Khayam is worked in pieces for the ultimate fit and made to be worn with the Laplace trousers as a set. Both are knitted in the Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5 ply with a crepe construction. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Embrae

Embrae is an old design from 2017 that I decided to photograph for the second time around, due to the limited use I have of the first set, as the model was from an agency. Embrae is a fitted lace cardigan knitted in the hand dyed Anzula Squishy in the gorgeous shade of Iris. Here you see how stunning it looked on model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Hodd

Hodd  is made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk and here you see how stunning it looked on model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. I decided to style the a-line Hodd with my pleated culottes and a black blouse on Olivia with boots by Monica Stålvang. Wenche suggested a different background from the one we used for Ceol – the turquoise pullover – and asked Olivia to walk further down the staircase. Continue reading

Photoshoot at Sentralen: Oráiste

Here is how the dress Oráiste looked on Model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. Named Oraisté, Irish for orange, is this seamless oversized straight dress with two cables in the side that are moved out of the armhole and continue to run along the raglan decreases to the neckline. Both the body and the stockinette sleeves are worked in the round with a hem at the bottom. Oraisté ends in an I-cord crew neckline but can be dressed up with the double cowl that can also be worn as a belt around your hips. The dress and cowl are knitted in the airy Norwegian combed wool yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. Continue reading
