Embrae is an old design from 2017 that I decided to photograph for the second time around, due to the limited use I have of the first set, as the model was from an agency. Embrae is a fitted lace cardigan knitted in the hand dyed Anzula Squishy in the gorgeous shade of Iris. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Jari
The next set of photos from the photoshoot is the Jari design made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. Photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai suggested we start with Model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair styling by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, sitting on the back of the sofa in the marble Hallway at Sentralen in Oslo. I like the cool look even though it does not show a lot of the sweater. So I suggested we move the sofa out of the photo. After I had checked whether it would work with the back of it showing, but the back of the sofa had a much plainer fabric hence it would not work. Continue reading

I am proud to present the first set of photos taken by Wenche Hoel-Knai at our photoshoot back in December at Sentralen in Oslo. Adeline’s Cardigan was made for Interweave Knits and featured on the cover of their Winter 2021 issue in November 2020. The pattern rights reverted to me in November but the garment had to be photographed again. Here are the stunning results from the shoot with Model Olivia Lindtein wearing Adeline’s Cardigan with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, all captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai. Varun Pattern Released
I am thrilled to announce that the Varun pattern has been released after a successful test knitting in my Ravelry group. My test knitters did a wonderful job and I look forward to sharing some of their result here later. The sample pullover and cowl is worked in the divine hand dyed Norne Yarn DK – Merino/Silk/Yak. Above you see it worn by the gorgeous Aksa Mortensen, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by Eivind Røhne at Hvalstrand Bad back in May. The English and Norwegian pattern is available on Ravelry and will shortly be available on LoveCrafts too.
Varun is an A-line pullover with a cable panel that travels across the front and the back like a sash, that signifies a position not necessarily a royal one but a secret one. Varun is Norse for secret keeper. The cable sash meets on top of the left shoulder and at the right hip, like a sash. To highlight this the right sleeve has a cable cuff, while the left sleeve has two small cables running along it next to stockinette stitches. Garter stitches play along the seams on all the parts. Varun ends in an I-cord bind off neck but can be dressed up with a cable cowl, both are knitted in the divine hand dyed Norne Yarn DK – Merino/Silk/Yak.

Andor and Ovedine in Familien Vinterstrikk 2021
The next special knitting issue magazine by the Norwegian magazine Familien is out, it is called “Vinterstrikk/Winter Knits” and I am so fortunate to have two designs in the magazine. Both are knitted in the pelt wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk; The poncho Andor in the thicker Tinde and the shawl Ovedine in Sølje in two hand dyed shades by Værbitt. On the cover is “Snøfall” by Kari Hestnes.
Andor comes in one size with bust circumference of 212 cm/83.5” and a length of 72 cm/28.25″. Above you see it worn by the gorgeous Alexandria Eissinger captured by Eivind Røhne at Villa Malla by the Oslo Fjord, back in June 2016. The pattern in English, Japanese and Norwegian is available on Ravelry and in English on LoveCrafts.
A trendy oversized poncho defined by its pairs of ornamental cables on each wide shoulder part. The stockinette center part is crowned by a high neck collar. The poncho has side bands that can be closed with buttons. It is knitted flat in two parts with shoulder and neck shaping. Andor is the Norse element for Eagle and its wingspan appropriate for this poncho.
Ovedine comes in one size with a wingspan of 162 cm/64″, a widest point width of 42 cm/16.5″ and a narrowest point width of 12 cm/4.75″. Above you see it worn by the beautiful Olivia Lindtein, with hair & make up by Erica Poppe and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, brilliantly photographed by Eivind Røhne at Mortensrud Church in November last year.
The shawl/wrap/scarf is knitted in two colours: Drageegg, Værbitt hand dyed on Sølje pelsull by Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (100% pelt wool, 100 g, 350 m/383 yds): 2 skeins: 497 m/544 yds and Lillebror, Værbitt hand dyed on Sølje pelsull: 1 skein; 315 m/344 yds.
Named after an old female name from Norway is this shawl with tucks, short rows and garter stitch stripes in two colors. The hem and one tuck made on the wrong side, in addition to the double I-cord bind off, make the shawl two-sided. Choose if you want to wear it as a shawl, or a wrap around your body or as a shawl collar. Ovedine is knitted in two gorgeous hand dyed shades by Værbitt on the pelt wool Sølje from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
Ovedine is available in English and Norwegian on Ravelry and on LoveCrafts. The “Familien Vinterstrikk” magazine is available from selected grocery stores and newsagents but can also be ordered in Norway by sending an SMS with VS21 to 2205.
Kolga Pattern Released
I have been looking forward to releasing the Kolga pattern, with a new silhouette I have made. My test knitters did a wonderful job improving and correcting the pattern. Hence the pattern is available in both English and in Norwegian in my Ravelry Store and shortly on LoveCrafts. Kolga was brilliantly photographed by Eivind Røhne at Hvalstrand Bad last summer. The stunning model was Aksa Mortensen, with hair & make-up by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design.
Kolga is Norse for a cool wave, like the one created by the Honeycomb cable pattern on this pullover. The A-line front moves the side seam and vent backwards, making it flow like waves. Kolga is knitted in the divine hand dyed Walk Collection Merino Sport yarn, in pieces and seamed for the ultimate fit. A folded down cowl gives the pullover a collar, while a standing cowl warms your neck.

Mistale New Pattern Version
My old pattern Mistale has new photos of gorgeous Model Aksa Mortensen, with with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design. Aksa is wearing size Small with 6.5 cm/2.5″ positive ease. Brilliant Photographer Eivind Røhne captured these photos at Hvalstrand Bad back in May. I have also reviewed the pattern and done some minor graphic changes to it. The pattern is available in English and Norwegian on both Ravelry and on LoveCrafts.
The vivid lime green in the pelt wool yarn Tinde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk felt intoxicating. Cross cables with round cables in the middle framed by ribbing makes the sweater figure hugging. Mistale ends in a square neckband and you can choose if you want to wear it with the matching cowl.

Saxi Pattern Released
The test knit of Saxi has come to an end, with a number of gorgeous sweaters as a result, I am thrilled to announce. Hence I have released the pattern in both English and in Norwegian in my Ravelry Store and shortly on LoveCrafts. Saxi was brilliantly photographed by Eivind Røhne at Hvalstrand Bad last summer. The stunning model was Aksa Mortensen, with hair & make-up by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design.
Saxi is a fitted cabled pullover that ends with an I-cord crown around the crew neckline. The play of texture begins with the round cable shape mirrored in the honeycomb pattern and continues with purl bands in all the stitch patterns. The squareness of the check pattern offers a contrast to the cable and ends the texture in the side of the pullover. Named Saxi after the Saxon in Norse, this sweater is knitted in a Donegal Tweed yarn. A cowl crowns the pullover and can be worn folded as a high collar or as a headband.

Cahal in Familien 20/2021
I am delighted to have my design Cahal, knitted in Tinde pelt wool from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk, featured in issue 20 of the Norwegian bi-monthly magazine Familien. This issue has 40 pages of knits and on the cover is the Elvira pullover designed by Tanja-Therese Grønneberg. However, my Cahal is on the front part of the handcraft section part of the magazine. Model Emma Ross, with make-up & hair by Sissel Fylling and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, is wearing size Small with the “Wrong Side” out in the photo below, captured by Eivind Røhne. Yarn kits are available directly from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
Origami vest with reversible cables that folds into shape. Vents are made by leaving the seam open at the bottom. The horizontal seam draws a line across the shoulders ending in a curve at the armhole. You can wear the vest with both sides out by making a neat or flat seam. The name Cahal is Celtic for strong in battle.
The vest is knitted in two parts. The front is a square, while the back has 30.5 cm/12” extra body length that folds to the front at each shoulder to form the upper front and the neck opening. Cahal is knitted using 3.5 mm/US 4 needles and a 21 stitches and 30 rows gauge measuring 10 cm/4″ square.
The pattern is graded into three sizes: S (M/L, XL/2XL) with a bust circumference of 106.5 (117, 127) cm/42 (46, 50)”. The length is: 68.5 (73.5, 78.5) cm/27 (29, 31)”.
