Here is another Sirona I wanted to share, this one is knitted by Pia Panso in Idéal by Bergère de France in size M back in 2020. The melange dark grey colour called Carbone fits Pia so well and make the pullover appear classic. I love the fit on her as well as the beautiful garden background in these photos! Continue reading

New Design: Khayam
My new jacket design Khayam is part of a set and was actually made after the matching trousers called Laplace. I am showing you Khayam first as I have yet to grade and finish the Laplace pattern. The sample jacket was beautifully knitted by Grete Jenssen, aka ma9 on Ravelry, for me. Named after the mathematician Omar Khayyam who worked on problems of Algebra is this long slightly oversized jacket with a cable collar and long cuffs. The remaining parts are knitted in stockinette stitch to make the cable stand out. A double belt in stockinette stitch highlights the beginning of the collar. Khayam is worked in pieces for the ultimate fit and made to be worn with the Laplace trousers as a set. Both are knitted in the Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5 ply with a crepe construction. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Embrae
Embrae is an old design from 2017 that I decided to photograph for the second time around, due to the limited use I have of the first set, as the model was from an agency. Embrae is a fitted lace cardigan knitted in the hand dyed Anzula Squishy in the gorgeous shade of Iris. Here you see how stunning it looked on model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. Mella Pattern Released
I am thrilled to release the Mella pattern in English on Ravelry. The Norwegian one will be added shortly. The test knit has come to an end with some stunning versions made. My test knitters did a brilliant job correcting and improving the pattern. You can see a number of their results on the Ravelry pattern page. Yarn kits with either an English or a Norwegian pattern are available directly from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. Here are some of the photos that Eivind Røhne took of the gorgeous model Aksa Mortensen wearing the Mella sweater, made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk, with make-up & hair styling by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, at Hvalstrand Bad, back in May last year. Photoshoot at Sentralen: Hodd
Hodd is made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk and here you see how stunning it looked on model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. I decided to style the a-line Hodd with my pleated culottes and a black blouse on Olivia with boots by Monica Stålvang. Wenche suggested a different background from the one we used for Ceol – the turquoise pullover – and asked Olivia to walk further down the staircase. Continue reading
NSF Knitting Weekend
Every weekend is a knitting weekend for me, but the last one was special since I was at the annual meeting for the Norwegian Knitting Association – Norsk Strikkeforbund – at Scandic Oslo Airport Hotel at Gardermoen. I am not a member of the board but I am the editorial “team” for the digital membership magazine called “På pinnen“/On the Needle and work with editor designer & author Tove Fevang (standing talking to a new board member). We were about 60 knitters attending. It was a perfect opportunity to meet known and unknown knitters and I took the opportunity to have a stand to sell my printed patterns. The program for the weekend was filled with annual meeting, talks, workshops, knitting and chatting as well as delicious meals! Below you see part of my stand, next to Margrete Slettan, Villull aka britstrikkenerd shop & instagram and Jeanette & Jeanine Førland (with the ponytail), aka knitknotnine. Continue reading
Photoshoot at Sentralen: Oráiste
Here is how the dress Oráiste looked on Model Olivia Lindtein, with make-up & hair by Nina Hjertaas Bull and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design, captured by photographer Wenche Hoel-Knai at Sentralen in Oslo last December. Named Oraisté, Irish for orange, is this seamless oversized straight dress with two cables in the side that are moved out of the armhole and continue to run along the raglan decreases to the neckline. Both the body and the stockinette sleeves are worked in the round with a hem at the bottom. Oraisté ends in an I-cord crew neckline but can be dressed up with the double cowl that can also be worn as a belt around your hips. The dress and cowl are knitted in the airy Norwegian combed wool yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. Continue reading
Kolga Knitted by Anne Thomas
I wanted to show you the stunning Kolga that Australian test knitter and patron Anne Thomas, aka annemade1 on Ravelry made in size XL. Anne chose the Australian yarn Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5 Ply which is machine washable and twisted into a classic crepe construction. I was inspired to use this double twist construction yarn for a pair of knitted trousers and a belted jacket, that I have designed. Anne picked the gorgeous colour called Seaquest and added 4 cm/1.5 inches to the length of her pullover. Continue reading
KAL in the KALMYO Group on Ravelry

New Design: Hodd
The next new design I will show you is a long A-line vest made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk in Ask. I enjoyed knitting the cable on the Oráiste dress and wanted to use it once more this time for a closed sleeveless pullover. The colour I chose for it is a dark terracotta 6503. My brilliant sample knitter & patron Airin Hansen knitted this sample for me in size S with a bust measurement of 90 cm/35.5″ using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle and a 22 stitches and 30 rows gauge measuring 10 cm/4″ square. In these photos taken by my husband in our front garden in Ørje back in November, I am wearing it with 2 cm/0.75″ positive ease. Continue reading
